The first part of the course contains especially teambuilding exercises. Objectives in this first part are: the students can work together, dare to speak in front of a group, learn to cope with fealure, can adjust their behaviour...

In the second part of the course the students train their skills to deliver a report on  fieldwork through different kind of case studies.The students get prepared for their first fieldwork. After the first experience there is a review.

Through differtent kind of exercises the students gain the necessary experience about themes such as empathy, confidence, observation, creativity, teamwork and motivation. And they learn to implement all this in their education to become an occupational therapist. Trough different kind of case studies the students train their skills in delivering fieldwork reports. Students have to deliver a report about the themes: empathy, observation and creativity in fieldwork situations.

The fields of action and task areas of the occupational therapist be clarified, as well as the current trends in the profession. The process of methodically Act in the daily ergotherapeutic practice dealt with in some detail, and is clear in practice applications. The concept is extended Act analyzed as tool for the occupational therapist.

The course is taught on the basis of a written course, supplemented by compulsory literature (foundations of occupational therapy.)

General Occupational Therapy (B-TM-Z79615)

Type : Partial or continuous assessment with (final) exam during the examination period

OPO General occupational therapy :

• OLA Introduction to Occupational Therapy 3 STP
• OLA General practice and introduction fieldwork 1STP

To pass this cluster, the student has to achieve 10/20. If a student has less than 6/20 on a course, he can earn maximum 9/20 for this cluster, unless the teachers of the cluster decide otherwise. The motivation is that the students competency goals has proved insufficient and will not be eligible for a credit.


Introduction to occupational therapy

100 % written after semester

Student submits a written exam , where both knowledge and application questions are asked . To pass this exam should be 60 % of basis competences be achieved. These basic skills are formed by questions from all chapters , which focused on application and knowledge required with regard to the core of occupational therapy and methodical process . The student shows that he understands the core of the profession and methodical process of occupational therapy.

Also basic and additional questions appear on the exam, and multiple choice can be expected. When gambling at multiple choice questions is negative, this will be mentioned on the exam.
If a student does not obtain 60 % on the basic skills , he will be assessed according to a scale of values and he can score a maximum of 9/20 .

General practice and introduction practical fieldwork

100 % permanent evaluation  after semester , on the basis of reporting
• 10% of the growth of personality,
• 20 % on work attitudes ,
• 35 % on the task about observing
• 35 % on the command of the first practical fieldwork .
So there is no separate practical exam for general practice and introduction practical fieldwork..


Handing Term papers :
• Course: the last lesson
• command observing : the lesson the week after giving the command
• command first practical fieldwork : the first lesson after the first practical fieldwork

IMPORTANT : Overdue tasks are issued , shall be construed as NA (not come and get a 0 on the task) . Disease on the day of issue must be legitimate and emailed to the teacher so that an appointment is made to submit the job. Later To succeed you need at least 4/5 of the lessons are , whether it is a legitimate or illegitimate absence .
