The student can accurately calculate the correct dosage of a medication.

The student can describe how medications are classified using the ATC system and understands its application in Belgium through the BCFI.

The student understands the concepts of the biopharmaceutical phase, pharmacodynamics, and pharmacokinetics, and can explain and apply all related technical terms.

The student can list and explain the main causes of drug side effects.

The student is familiar with the most common types of drug interactions, both among medications and between medications and food/recreational substances, and can identify and explain these interactions.

The student can identify and enumerate the "7 Rights of Medication" from a practical example or case study.

The student can perform the practical skills of drawing up medication and administering an intramuscular and subcutaneous injection according to the correct basic principles.

The student knows the different names of muscles and the anatomical landmarks for intramuscular injections.

The student acquires basic insights into the teratology and toxicology of medications.

General admission conditions Thomas More Kempen: to be admitted to the first year, candidates must hold a secondary education certificate issued by the Flemish, French or German community of Belgium. 

These certificates give access to all forms of higher education. 

For candidates with only a foreign diploma, a proficiency level of the Dutch language, issued by a recognized language institute, is required.

Within an authentic context, both the administration of medicines and the associated IMP are treated.

The following themes will be discussed:

- E-Lab 7: Provide appropriate information on the use of medication during pregnancy, postpartum and lactation (together with OPO Anatomy and Physiology Part 1)
