The midwife assists and monitors independently and generally the healthy women and newborns from conception, before, during and after birth and promotes the integration of the family.

In the obstetrical and medical and neonatal field, the midwife assists the woman and child in high risk situations, in cooperation with and referring to obstetritians, neonatologists and other specialists.
In the field of reproductive medicine the midwife carries out medical operations entrusted to her and she is activly involved in the pre and postnatal monitoring of mother and child.

The student can with this basis knowledge and by help of the lessons and case studies  transfer his knowledge to the monitoring of pregnant woman, childbirth and maternal  care in the  primary care

The student learns by the mean of case studies to transfer the acquired knowledge in the first to the primary health care.

Birthposition: written exam
Healthpromotion: the student work in groups and choose a healtpromotion topic. This topic will be presented and evaluated by the class group. paper.
Suturing perineum: the student takes initiative during practise in to suture a perineum under supervision of the gynaecologue/ midwife. Self assessment. No exam.But the assessment has to be signed by the gynaecologue/midwife.
Methodics of independent practise, antenatal screening, riskselection and complementary therapies: closed book exam.On the hand of a case study they can demonstrate the insight in primaryhealth care.
